what a great time to be giving thanks – especially in the great state of Texas. existing home sales were up 8% from a year ago according to The Real Estate Center at Texas A&M University. there were more than 15,600 homes sold, the medium price was up 2% to $147,500, and inventory was down to 6.9 months. Fort Worth sold 612 homes (up 4%) and Dallas sold 3289 homes (up 10%).
to give some perspective….while Texas showed 2% GAIN in median sales price the national average showed a 4.7% decline. furthermore, Texas’ sales were up 8% from a year ago while the national average saw only a 1.4% increase.
